On leaving the presidential residence, the father said that his son would like to return to Barcelona

The possibility of Lionel Messi’s return to Barcelona seems more and more real as the days pass and the events are analyzed. On top of everything, after the rapprochement experienced this Monday at Joan Laporta’s house, where the footballer’s father went to a meeting with the president of the Catalan club.

A meeting about which nothing was known, but after which Jorge Messi spoke publicly. Approaching a group of journalists who were waiting for the player’s father in front of Laporta’s house, he stated that his son “wants to return” to the team where he grew up as a footballer, that this is an option and that he personally would like to see it come into effect.

After his sudden departure two seasons ago, after Laporta failed to fulfill the promise he had made, the relationship between the president and the footballer seemed completely broken. According to various sources, Messi did not want to know anything about the leader of Barca. However, the end of the contract with PSG and the bad sporting and personal experience of the world champion in Paris forced him to reconsider the situation.

For weeks, the possibility of his return to Barcelona has been circulating around Barcelona. From the club managers to Xavi himself, they mentioned how good the return would be, which the footballer has not yet commented on. Before that happens, the rough edges from two years ago need to be ironed out. The meeting this Monday between Jorge Messi and Laporta seems to serve as a step forward in this situation.

Even without going into details, the father of the Argentine number 10 admitted his desire and said that there are still things to discuss, but the possibility is there and Laporta wants to keep it no matter what.
