With 30 billion francs: Bundesrat wants to promote education and research

class=”sc-29f61514-0 kHgAwW”>

The Federal Council wants to support education and research with almost 30 billion Swiss francs.

On Friday, the Federal Council opened consultation on the Dispatch on the Promotion of Education, Research and Innovation (ERI Dispatch). It will last until Sept 24.

The Bundesrat decided in March that funding should increase nominally by 2 percent over the current support period. He wants to avoid a stop-and-go policy. Whether the upper limit for the ERI message can be used up depends on the financial situation of the federal government, the Federal Council wrote on Friday.

The ETH domain will be equipped with solid growth, the statement said. Against the background of the lack of skilled workers, the federal government must be a reliable partner in vocational training and in the field of universities. (SDA)
