SVP-Glarner loses his loyal Vice President

Scandal in Aargau SVP leadership, Vice President Michelle Rütti surprisingly announces her withdrawal from the party leadership.

It bubbles up at SVP Aargau. The SVP leadership led by Andreas Glarner (60) will lose several members after the board meeting in May – including Glarner’s loyal vice president Michelle Rütti (38), the “Aargauer Zeitung” writes on Monday.

Shortly before the federal elections in the autumn, the SVP in Aargau has to look for two new members of the board of directors. This was after former party secretary Pascal Furer resigned in March.

Fatal flirts with the competition

Actually, the board meeting was not about the role of Michelle Rütti at all. The Executive Committee discussed the dual role of Renato-Raffaele Prettyr. He is also involved in the committee of FDP National Council candidate Adrian Schoop (37). A no-go in an election year, according to a large part of the management!

But not everyone shares this opinion. Vice President Michelle Rütti supported Luciere’s commitment to the competition – and casually admitted that she was also on the Schoop committee. Some of her presidency colleagues reacted with shock and gave Rütti an ultimatum: either SVP vice-president or commission for competitor Schoop.

Rütti decided against the SVP and resigned from the Presidium the next day. At the request of the “Aargauer Zeitung”, Rütti would “neither confirm nor deny” the resignation of the management.

Glarner loses more and more allies

Anders Andreas Glarner confirmed the resignation of his loyal vice president. “I’m sorry,” he says. Rütti’s double role would not be a problem for him personally. No wonder, because her departure is also a setback for Glarner, who could always count on Rütti’s unlimited support.

Glarner’s support in the party leadership is dwindling. Land council member Martina Bircher (39) also recently announced her departure from the Aargau party leadership – due to lack of time. Moreover, party secretary Barbara Borer, elected in March, would not have been Glarner’s favorite candidate.

Renato-Raffaele Prettyr also decided against his position on the SVP and gave up his role on the election management team in favor of the Schoop Committee. For example, shortly before the elections in the autumn, Glarner has to fulfill a third important position in addition to the two members of the board of directors. (sq)
