PC-24 Federal Council jet sold to private company

Armasuisse has sold the PC-24 Federal Council jet to the federal government for a profit.

Armasuisse has sold the PC-24 Federal Council jet to the federal government for a profit.

JoyVida International AG submitted the best offer and has now been awarded the contract, the Federal Office for Armaments (Armasuisse) announced on Monday. The Federal Council decided in February to sell the newly purchased low-demand aircraft in 2019.

At the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency, Armasuisse did not provide information about the amount paid for the aircraft. A spokesperson said it had been agreed not to make the matter public. The tradable selling price at the time exceeded the purchase price, wrote only the Federal Office.

The transfer to JoyVida International should be completed by the end of November. By then, the aircraft will be downgraded to civilian standard and its military registration, the T-786, will be removed from the Air Force register.

This means that the Federal Council’s fleet of jets now consists of two aircraft. In February, the Federal Council instructed the Ministry of Defense (DDPS) to explore options for further development of the fleet and to submit an application before the end of the year.
