The international anti-corruption body Greco is not satisfied with the implementation of some of its recommendations by Switzerland. In particular, the mandate tax for judges remains and there is no disciplinary system for federal judges.
Overall, Switzerland has only satisfactorily implemented or processed five of the twelve recommendations, the Council of Europe’s Group of States against Corruption (Greek Commission) said on Thursday in the addendum to the second evaluation report on Switzerland.
Of the remaining seven recommendations, five have been partially implemented and two have not been implemented. The latter includes recommendations for federal courts. Mandate taxes and party donations from judges are still not banned. There were also no sanctions other than removal from office.
The body bears witness to the lack of progress on transparency among MPs. The information on the declaration of interests therefore still does not contain quantitative data, namely information on remuneration. (SDA)
