According to a study starting in autumn 2023, cannabis will be sold in the cities of Bern, Lucerne and Biel.

The aim of the study is to examine the health and social effects of regulated cannabis sales, as the University of Bern announced on Wednesday.

The recruitment of about a thousand participants is planned for the study called “Script”. They can obtain cannabis products specially manufactured for the study at selected pharmacies. People who have been shown to regularly consume cannabis in their spare time and who are at least 18 years old can participate in the study.

In addition to the BAG, the Cantonal Ethics Committee of Bern and the Ethics Committee of Northwest and Central Switzerland have also given the script study the necessary approvals. The cities of Bern, Lucerne and Biel have also given their consent. (SDA)
