At the Federal Intelligence Service (NDB), board members must reapply for their position if they wish to remain in office. The only exception is Christian Dussey, who has been a director for a year.
At the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency, the FIS confirmed a similar report from the CH Media newspapers. The process is part of the service transformation that NDB director Christian Dussey (58) is currently carrying out. Even though the FIS has evolved continuously since its creation in 2010, its structure needs to be adapted to the increasing demands.
In this context, the FIS cites a wider range of threats and risks, the pace of decisions, the effects of rapid technological progress, the expectations of the new generation of employees and the changing requirements of customers and partners. “The head of the DDPS has been informed about the transformation and supports it,” the FIS said.
The new management will consist of five heads of department and a deputy director. With the exception of the election of the deputy director, which must be approved by the head of the DDPS, Viola Amherd, the other members of the board of directors are appointed by Dussey.
The first members of the new management will be appointed by the end of the first half of 2023, as indicated upon request. For people who apply but are not eligible, “individual solutions would be sought, for example another job within the FIS”. (SDA/sq)
