Greens make demands for CS rescue

The earthquake in the Swiss financial center caused quite a stir on the political scene. To prevent Credit Suisse (CS) from falling, the Swiss National Bank (SNB) is providing you with up to CHF 50 billion in liquidity support. The Federal Council met for a special session on Thursday. SP and Mitte made their first political demands on the same day.

The Greens followed on Friday. You have started a petition addressed to the National Bank and are seeking support on social media. The whole is entitled “Bank rescue only with transparency and climatic conditions!”. By Friday afternoon, 1,438 people had signed the request.

Rescue loan only with conditions

«Profit at any price!» the Greens blame the CS bankers. Under this motto, the big bank was involved in corruption scandals, fueled the climate crisis for decades and violated human rights. National Bank is not responsible at all

The party therefore wants to attach conditions to the aid money to CS – and hand it over to the National Bank with its petition. However, the whole thing looks hand-knitted. It is therefore incomprehensible that full transparency is required about the terms of the rescue loan.

In addition, however, the Greens demand that future loans should only be granted if sustainability guidelines are met. However, which directives are involved is not further explained.
