SP discusses measures to strengthen purchasing power

Co-chair Mattea Meyer also paid attention to purchasing power in her speech. This could be strengthened by “putting an end to the excessive rip-off of rents and the SP guaranteeing affordable rents”. In addition, the premium deduction for low-income families and individuals must finally be increased, the Zurich National Council demanded.

According to an SP purchasing power analysis, “exploding rents and falling pensions in the second pillar” are a problem for many people. At the party congress, the delegates will discuss, among other things, which of the two topics should be emphasized in the coming years in order to strengthen the purchasing power of the people of Switzerland.

Other topics of the party congress, the highest organ of the SP, are equality and climate and energy security. (SDA)
