The center of the canton of Zurich wants to nominate its national councilor Philipp Kutter as a candidate for the parliamentary elections. The 47-year-old has been a member of the National Council since 2018 and mayor of Wädenswil ZH since 2010.
The party announced Kutter’s candidacy on Monday as part of its Epiphany talks. The delegates’ meeting on January 26 will make the final decision.
Noser takes the hat
Zurich’s incumbent Council of States, Ruedi Noser (FDP), has announced that he does not want to participate again. The Liberals want to defend the seat with State Councilor Regine Sauter. State Council Daniël Jositsch (SP) wants to run for a new term.
The Greens have nominated Zurich city councilor Daniel Leupi as a candidate for the Council of States, and GLP national councilor Tiana Moser. Nominations from other parties are still open. (SDA)
