“We have recently received confirmation that the three Swiss are alive and in different prisons,” Johannes Matyassy, head of the consular directorate of the foreign department of the FDFA, told Radio SRF.
It’s good to know where these three potentially dangerous people are, Matyassy said. Otherwise, they could try to return to Switzerland. However, the Federal Council decided three years ago not to allow Swiss jihadists to return to the country.
