The contracts with the three poolers have a term of four years and have a total contract value of approximately one million francs, the Federal Public Service for the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communication (UVEK) announced on Wednesday.
The Swiss Federal Office for Energy (SFOE) expects that in the winter of 2022/23 about 280 MW of power can be supplied as a national “backup power plant” with the bundled emergency power generators.
Interested owners of emergency generators with a capacity of at least 750 kW can now register with one of the poolers. According to the report, the pooler then takes care of all further steps, including the contractual details. As compensation, the owners of the emergency generators receive a commission premium.
