Swiss television has a new entertainment box: the program “What makes Switzerland tick?”. The population is put to the test during the game show on Saturday evening. 100 people – a cross-section of the Swiss population – have to answer questions on various topics relevant to society and everyday life. Three prominent teams of two guess what the participants will answer.
SP council member Jacqueline Badran (62) from Zurich also appeared as a prominent guest – together with musician Florian Ast (48). And during the premiere she gave the audience all kinds of surprising insights.
As a representative of the population in Bern, she must know what makes Switzerland tick, said presenter Claudio Zuccolini (53) during the introductions at the start of the show. Badran replied that she had actually prepared for the show as a politician. This way you always study a little about what makes Switzerland tick.
During the guessing game, Badran also revealed how she met her husband Victor (60). At the Coca-Cola machine at the University of Zurich, where both studied biology. “I was looking for someone fourth to play with. Then he ran past and I knew he was also whining,” said the SP politician. They have been together for almost 40 years and have been married for almost 33 of those years.
Also asking “Who has ever called the police because the neighbors were too loud?” Badran had an interesting anecdote up his sleeve. She said she had never called before. “But I often feel like it!” The reason for this is one of her neighbors who plays ethnobeats with the window open in the summer. “Then I can’t do my things. Reading, for example. And that is annoying,” said the Zurich resident. And she half-jokingly threatened: she might call the police this summer.
Together with musician Ast, she proved that politician Badran does not understand people so badly: the celebrity team of two finished the game show in second place. (oco)
