No point of contact yet: Bishop Bonnemain of Chur keeps victims of abuse aside

“It’s also going too slowly for me”: Chur Bishop Joseph Maria Bonnemain could not give victims of abuse a time when a contact point would be set up. (archive image)

“It is not that we have been sitting still since September,” Bonnemain emphasized at a meeting of those affected by abuse in Zurich, which he connected with online. The church meets almost every week for a working group on this subject.

But there is a dilemma: either the point of contact is completely independent – or it is initiated by the church. “That is not compatible.” It may be better to rely on proven facilities that already exist in Switzerland.

In April, those responsible from the church want to meet with the conference of social directors, that is, with representatives of the cantons.
