No opposition: Pfister remains centrist president

class=”sc-cffd1e67-0 iQNQmc”>

Gerhard Pfister (right), national councilor of Zug, will continue to chair the Center for another four years. Jura State Councilor Charles Juillard (left) was also confirmed in office as vice president.

Pfister took over the presidency of the then CVP in 2016. He revamped the party, rebranded it and successfully led it through the 2023 federal elections.

Pfister’s election was uncontested and unanimous in an open vote. The party chairman thanked him. “But you had no alternative,” he said to the laughter of the delegates. He looks forward to continuing the revival of the party.

The Vice Presidium consists of National Council members Yvonne Bürgin (ZH) and Vincent Maitre (GE), as well as State Councilor Charles Juillard (JU). There are also six other members of the party board.
