A court conviction would obviously be more than just inconvenient for Hartmann. He is accused of ignoring numerous court rulings as vice president of Walenstadt in a neighborhood dispute over a garden wall. In contrast to a ruling by the federal court, the then municipal council, of which Hartmann was a member, decided that the relocation of a controversial wall in the border area between two residential buildings could not be done.
