Tax rate reduced: Steinhausen ZG will grant a tax rebate in 2024

class=”sc-cffd1e67-0 fmXrkB”>

In Steinhausen the tax burden will decrease in 2024 thanks to a discount.

The community announced this on Friday evening. The city council had asked voters for a 56 percent tax rate. The 2024 budget therefore provided for a surplus of 4.0 million francs.

According to the presentation submitted to the municipal meeting, the audit committee did not agree with the estimate. She requested that the budget be returned to the municipality, because it had budgeted the income too conservatively. Budgeted tax revenues must therefore be increased and the tax rate reduced to 54 percent.

However, the community meeting rejected the rejection request and approved the budget, as the community announced. However, she agreed to a voter’s request to leave the tax rate at 56 percent but allow a 2 percentage point cut in 2024. Other unsuccessful applications had called for a real reduction in the tax rate to 54 percent or a tax increase to 58 percent, as the municipality announced upon request. (SDA)
