Golden parachute: the dismissed general secretary of Amherd receives a high severance package

There is currently a lot of unrest in the environment of Defense Minister Viola Amherd (61). As Blick reported, the already announced top official Jean-Daniel Ruch (60) cannot take up his position as State Secretary for Security Policy. His lifestyle, among other things, would have stood in his way.

The federal councilor also separated from one of her highest officials in the same breath. As announced this week, Amherd is dismissing its general secretary Toni Eder (62). He was on the search committee to find the State Secretary for Security.

Her office said the timing of his departure was purely coincidental. However, the reasons for the divorce are unknown.

Eder is not completely gone yet

Apparently Eder doesn’t have to worry financially for the time being. As the “Tages-Anzeiger” reports, he can count on a good compensation. He will receive a severance payment of one year’s salary, equivalent to approximately 300,000 francs, the newspaper wrote, citing the federal personnel regulation.

In the best case, Eder doesn’t have to look for a new full-time job. Because it should be at least partially preserved by the administration. This is evident from a letter to VBS employees. It states that Eder is still available for the VBS regarding the evacuation of the Mitholz ammunition depot.

Amherd has already chosen a successor for Eder. Daniel Büchel (53), Deputy Director of the Federal Office for Energy since 2011, will now be responsible for the tasks of the Federal Ministry of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS). (she)
