Besides fire extinguishers and pain plasters: SP-Nussbaumer advertises where you are doomed to wait

In addition to fire extinguishers and pain plasters: SP Council Member Eric Nussbaumer is now also campaigning for his re-election at the post office.

How do you irrevocably brand yourself in the minds of voters? The future chairman of the National Council Eric Nussbaumer (63) has found a new answer to this: at the post office!

Because people are doomed to wait. If you want to return your Zalando package or hand in a registered letter, you must take a number at the branch and then wait fifteen minutes for your turn. Nussbaumer is now benefiting from this in the run-up to the national elections on October 22.

Religion and sex are taboo

To monetize the involuntary waiting time of its customers, the post office rents out advertising space in its branches – companies and SMEs can rent stacked stands to advertise products and services. Religion and sex are taboo, but political advertising is no problem.

And so, from Monday, Basel-based Sozi will hang its election advertisements next to the rows in five branches for four weeks. “Everyone has to stare at me,” says Nussbaumer, grinning. There is no way out.

Party member Levrat is also happy with it

“So that this post remains open – Eric Nussbaumer back to Bern,” he fully promises on his posters. The well-attended post offices are not in danger, but as an advocate of public services, he at least supports the state operation. He pays 1000 pieces for it. Party member Christian Levrat (53) is also happy with this. The former SP chairman is now chairman of the post office’s board of directors.

The post office advertises that the “beautiful” wooden boxes make the advertising spaces “unique”. With more than 700 ‘unique’ locations, there is quite a lot of wood. After the post initially raised eyebrows, it now at least seems clear why she bought forest in Thuringia, Germany in the first place. (dba)
