The authorities are investigating, among other things, serious violations of the peace and violent crimes.

Last weekend there were violent riots in Stuttgart on the sidelines of an event in Eritrea. During the riots in Stuttgart, the police found themselves caught between supporters and opponents of the Eritrean regime.

The sad consequence of the excessive violence: 27 injured police officers, seven of whom were unfit for duty, 21 injured attackers and four injured participants in a seminar in Eritrea. The police are now investigating 228 people!

Police also identified 63 people from Switzerland among the attackers, as police vice-president Carsten Höfler explained on Sunday.

Stuttgart police told Blick that they are currently under investigation on suspicion of a serious disturbance of public order. “More crimes may occur during the course of the investigation,” said police spokesman Stephan Widmann.

Free again

However, the Eritreans who came specifically from Switzerland are no longer being held: they were simply sent away and then released, police say. The police do not want to provide any further information due to the ongoing investigation.

However, the suspected Eritreans with a Swiss address still had to provide a so-called authorized person for delivery in Germany. This confidential counselor can receive legal mail on behalf of the suspect. (she)
