GA is getting cheaper: Price monitor blows the whistle on the public transport sector

Price regulator Stefan Meierhans called back the public transport sector.

Over the entire route, the increase from the timetable change on December 10 will be 3.7 percent instead of the originally planned 4.3 percent, price monitor Stefan Meierhans (54) announced on Thursday. The new rates include the VAT increase of 0.4 percentage point as a result of the AHV reform.

Under the agreement, the general subscription (GA) for 2nd class now costs CHF 3,995 instead of CHF 4,080. The AV for young people under the age of 25 is 3495 francs instead of 3580.

This relieves GA holders of a total of CHF 12 million. In addition, the industry has committed to price monitor Meierhans to sell savings cards at a discount of CHF 37 million in 2024. (SDA/dba)
