The Juso around President Nicola Siegrist and Vice President Mirjam Hostetmann demand “revolutionary feminism” and a deportation stop in two resolutions.

In two resolutions, de Juso calls for “revolutionary feminism” and an end to deportation.

Civic feminism only allows more freedom for a privileged minority of high-earning white women, says Juso Vice President Mirjam Hostetmann in a statement. This is done through the exploitation of less fortunate, often migrant women who do their care work.

More equality for some at the expense of others is not liberation for all. Therefore, a revolutionary feminism is needed that will overcome capitalism and overthrow patriarchy. In a resolution, the Young Socialists (Juso) demanded, among other things, a 25-hour working week, the establishment of a billion-dollar feminist fund and a national pension system

“Incendiary and racist rhetoric”

In a second resolution, de Juso denounced “the inflammatory and racist rhetoric of the right against people fleeing” and the “undignified reception conditions in Switzerland”. It was “inhumane and ignorant to look away when you die in the Mediterranean” as the submarine super-rich dominated the headlines, Juso president Nicola Siegrist said, according to the announcement.

Switzerland must therefore immediately send a state sea rescue service to the Mediterranean. In addition, the Juso demands in the resolution an “immediate halt to all deportations, especially to EU countries such as Croatia”. In addition, there is a need for clear guidelines on human rights for Swiss companies abroad.

Juso is committed to a world where no one is forced to flee. Migration policy is therefore an important theme for the party for the federal elections in the fall. (SDA)
