Climate protection law passed – that’s what Blick thinks: a cheap yes

The supporters of the climate protection law can celebrate. Switzerland clearly says yes.
Sermin Fakipolitical leader

Switzerland says yes to climate protection law. The approximately 58 percent is an impressive sign that the Swiss people care about protecting the climate and the Alpine glaciers.

Justifiably! Our country is already being hit harder than average by climate change. Temperatures here rise more than the world average. At the same time, summer is drier, but spring and autumn are significantly rainier.

But you have to be honest: it’s a cheap yes. It costs us (almost) nothing, instead we get money from the federal government to replace our electric, electricity and gas heating systems.

The CO2– Dues were too expensive for us

It was different two years ago. With the KO2law would have become a lot more expensive: heating oil or gas, driving a car and, because of the air passenger tax, also holidays. We know the result: a narrow no of 51.6 percent – even if part of the additional costs would flow back to the population.

Sunday should not mislead us into believing that it is a good thing to say yes to the Climate Protection Act. This must be rather the beginning, Switzerland really CO2make neutral. It costs more, but do nothing.
