Dealing with the dialogue function: Bundesrat wants to establish communication rules in social media

class=”sc-29f61514-0 jbwksb”>

The federal administration must be given rules for communicating with the population via social media. (theme image)

The focus is on how the federal government handles user comments, as stated in the Federal Chancellery’s statement. In the “Social Media Strategy” adopted in 2021, the Federal Council already stipulated that there should be uniform regulations for dealing with the dialogue function.

Among other things, it should regulate which comments the authorities are allowed to remove, hide or otherwise suppress. The circumstances under which users can be blocked must also be determined. The amendments to the National and Administrative Organization Regulation (RVOV) are being discussed until October 7, 2023.
