Debate in the National Council: Councils want to stabilize the number of buildings outside built-up areas

class=”sc-29f61514-0 jbwksb”>

With the revised Spatial Planning Act, parliament wants to determine where construction is and is not permitted. Outside the construction zones, the number of buildings may no longer increase. (archive image)

Unopposed, he entered the bill on Thursday, which he had not wanted to debate in the original version at the end of 2019. Since then, the competent committee of the Council of States has simplified the bill and the Council of States has approved it.

To prevent the number of buildings outside the construction zone from getting out of hand, the majority of the Commission for the Environment, Spatial Planning and Energy does not want any additional exceptions for building outside the construction zone. She therefore wants to limit individual decisions of the Council of States.

However, minorities want to write exceptions in the law, which the majority wants as an indirect counter-proposal to the landscape initiative. The initiators would like to lay down the division between built-up and non-built-up areas in the statutes.
