Musical Pilgrims will include concerts on balconies in Santiago to expand the audience

For this reason, in addition to performances in the usual venues such as the Teatro Principal and the Auditorio de Galicia, they are dedicated to programming four concerts on the balconies in the historic center on July 7.

They are pianists Yuri Durán and Cris Bernal — both from Galicia — and Sofía Zhólobova (Ukraine), bassoonist Emanuel Sint (Germany), clarinetist Pablo López (Basque Country) and violinist Nerea Arriola (Basque Country). In addition, cellist Jorge Suárez received a special jury award for the best Galician performer. New talents will perform in the windows and balconies of the Granell Foundation, Café Casina, Torrente Ballester Foundation and Casa do Cabido. “In this way, the public participates more directly,” said Ilona Timchenko. The closing will be at the Hostal dos Reis Católicos.

But In its programming, Musical Pilgrims combines new talents with names of rich experience. “We are always looking for translators at a high level, both in training and already established”, added the event director. In this way, the festival will be marked by the violinist’s performance Diana Poghosian (June 29), the degas duo (30th day), cellist Roger Morelló (July 13) i Metamorphoses trio (14th day). The concert program — all with free admission — rounds off the performance at Ames9., and another of the young talents from Royal Philharmonic of Galiciawhich will be held on July 11.

This issue of faithstival will pay tribute to the composer and pianist Sergei Rachmaninovwith his works at all concerts for the 150th anniversary of his birth.

The general director of culture, Anxo Lorenzo, pointed out at the ceremony held in Pilgrimage Museum the importance of Musical Pilgrims for the formation of a new audience. For her part, the Acting Councilor for Cultural Action of Santiago, Mercedes Rosón, encouraged citizens to participate, highlighting the musical proposal on the balconies of symbolic buildings in the city. For her part, the representative of the Ames City Council, Mayor Natividad González, decided to continue cooperation in new editions to bring classical music closer to the city.
