The institution thereby acknowledges the decades of work of the historian, who was one of the co-founders and held several unofficial positions, including that of president last year

It is difficult to summarize the few lines that make up the praise or the work of life, the monumental xeira that abrollou das area of the Seminario de Estudos Galegos, remained underground during the dictatorship and agromou de novo in the decade of the 70s, erected by angueira du group of homes and women who tried to do the great house of Galician identity to the advanced.

It is difficult, but possible, to summarize half a century of tasks, abilities and successes of a cultured farmer as just beramendi (Madrid, 1941), a Galician by choice who devoted a good part of his time to strengthening the roots that hold Galicia today. For this reason, the Museo do Pobo Galego grants its gold label, the highest distinction of the cultural institution in which it is present from its headquarters, from the idea of its creation related to management costs. His sponsor was secretary (1976-1986), president of the Xunta Reitor (2000-2011) and his own president since 2011, it was a year ago, when he stopped running again to complete the national resettlement they consider necessary to continue the project.

“My possible merits are more the product of collective work,” said Justo Beramendi in a small intervention in which he noted that there are other people who have dedicated the same time and with the same intensity as the year. Museum of the Galician Peoplepeople who “deserve this badge as much or more”.

“Several of the medals awarded are given to people of exceptional merit such as promoters of the initial idea of the museum or holders of positions of responsibility,” explained Manuel Caamaño, a member of the group that promoted Beramendi to the honor, during the commendation that determined the award of the museum’s gold badge. Or beat him just beramendi The Museo do Pobo Galego is twofold: I was the promoter of the initial idea, but I also have several positions in the administration of the project.

The historian, who is also a winner of the Castelao Medal and was the winner of the National Essay Prize, completed his small intervention — a few months ago he received another honor in which he gave a speech and “as these months have not changed my relationship with the museum, tería I repeat,” he explained with his characteristic sense of humor—wishing “that the museum continues to move forward, doing or what it must do, for many decades to come.”

This consisted of a general meeting this weekend, which approved a plan for the next few months, which includes continuing to progress plans for new exhibition halls for the museum.
