Galicia Escena Pro will present a range of theater, dance and circus from the country in Santiago through 30 productions

Encourage the purchase and sale of performing arts performances. That’s the goal Galicia Pro Scenewhich will celebrate its tenth edition Sun May 29 to June 1, in Santiago, becoming a showcase of the “great creative enthusiasm” of companies in the country. For iso program presentation 18 shows in full format —Those who also have two experts from the sector can attend for free to the general public—, one of the presentations in ‘pitching’ format stage projects in the process of creation, more than 400 business meetings, two round tables and two concerts.

No stage market will participate more than 180 sector agents, two groups of 75 are representatives of fairs, festivals, circles and cultural spaces in Galicia and abroad, and more than a hundred are members of Galician companies and theater, dance and circus production and distribution companies. «This is an important development in the presence of forum developers, such as Valencia, Portugal...», I pointed out Jacobo the Subtle, Director of the Galician Agency for Cultural Industry (Agadic), a Xunta entity that promotes Galicia Escena Pro in collaboration with Escena Galego.

Eighteen Galicians joined the performance of the Madrid company Inconstantes Teatro in collaboration with MADFeria.

In selecting proposals, they tried to balance established companies with emerging ones. “We are in a moment of great creative flourishing in the performing arts. There are many varieties of the language, now the question is whether there is a network that can overcome this”, said the president of Escena Galega, Santiago Cortegoso.

The general public who wants to attend more than 19 open events must previously withdraw available invitations (maximum two per person) from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Abanca Social Center, or on the day of the event . The productions will be performed in the Salón Teatro, Teatro Principal, Auditorio Abanca, Fundación SGAE and in the squares of San Martín Pinario and Mazarelos. This year, as a novelty, the children’s national team will revive the audience that could not attend due to the pandemic.

Complementary activities include the Paraíso Teatro concerts on Tuesdays in Sala Riquela and De Ninghures e Mondra or Mercores in Sala Capitol.
