The first edition of the International Animated Film Festival awards the jury prize to the Portuguese film “O homem do lixo”

The first edition of the International Animated Film Festival Imaxinaria, organized by Afundación, will be held this Sunday in A Coruña with artistic success and after five days of enjoyment for the audience, which responds by lighting up the room, above all two young men, in the presence of invited experts of international rank. After the screening of 47 films in competition — from 21 countries — and five more feature films, the big winners of the Estonian short film competition Dog-an apartment —who won the main prize of Imaxinaria—is from Galicia cat sandwichwhich deserves public recognition.

The jury award goes to a Portuguese film O homem do lixoby Laura Gonçalves, the Territorio Award (denoting the best short Galician or Spanish participant) was for a proposal by Genís Rigol from Barcelona Correa together with his partner. Affected Children — which are the subject of special attention at this festival — was chosen as the best French film boom, a 3D work about the adventures of two birds trying to save their eggs from a volcanic eruption. Either a complete record or an honorable mention —Godfather of the Festival, it was announced— to Dutch director Michaël Dudok de Wit extolling the important claims he has accredited in “the art of telling animated stories in cinema throughout his career.” San Sebastián artist Isabel Herguera was also awarded an honorary prize for activism in animation.

But the best award I ever won Koerkorter [Dog-apartment], short which, second or missed, will be “difficult to choose”. Through a group of “incredible and surreal characters” and with “flawless ambience, photography and technique”, the film tells “a deep story about a dancer in decline”. So eloxia or swore to the work of the Estonian Priit Tender (Tallinn, 1971).

Chapter by chapter in black stars millions of girls and boys who uncertainly participated and decided with their votes that the Children’s Audience Award went to a French short film boomthe only 3D work awarded at Imaxinaria.
