But, and this point, which I ignored in this little series column about justice, actually it is the common thread of this long series of thoughts connected by a vague image of letters.
What do we give in exchange for justice running through our days? What is the price we pay every time we “prevent” injustice from interfering with our affairs? Because nothing is free, nothing comes certain point without stepping on the angelic the grass of time, it is impossible to sail through this life without causing the most minimal change, minimal reaction. What is so valuable to the guarantors of justice that they accept it as retribution for their deeds, what hides the judicial curtain of a just society, where is the ticket to such a famous function?
Our own psyche hides under the tunic of reputation, we suppress our sorrow to give wings to what we accept to be fair, but in exchange for what? From your own freedom because in full freedom, free space without barriers, equality and equality cannot exist. Because our freedom, animal and wild, spoils the thin thread of common sense and justice. because our understanding one’s own freedom it is wrong, defined by ignorance of conscience, driven by the pernicious greed of our eyes, carried by the dry brutality of a malevolent heartbeat. We cannot have complete freedom because we do not have complete control over our mind. As I have already explained in previous columns, we live by deceiving ourselves about what is and what is not fair.
We blind ourselves, many times, before own injustices so that they do not have to go through the death process to reveal ourselves as what we really are, imperfect individuals, failed beings, self-tamed wild animals.
That’s why we like to think that justice is a virtue, something that only the virtuous, the most righteous and the most enlightened understand. We like to play with that thought because we avoid facing the heavy burden of our own barbaric conscience, frees us they carry the idea that maybe justice is nothing more than a social chain imposed on all of us savages. Because now that adjective is frowned upon, because it is a punishment to be borne that locket. But it is that we left we are and will be wild by nature, even if we cover it up with the light of justice and society. We are barbarians without freedom we are bourgeois robbers, we are hordes of lunatics who have decided to become civilized.
Because an unjust civilization is not civilized, because a society ruled by brutality cannibalizes and dies, as I said before. Justice exists so that we don’t beat our chests and call us educated and polite, but works so that we do not fall into barbarism. Justice, even if it defies the definition and the essence of freedom continues because, within its own limits, the individual, however contradictory it may seem, becomes freer. Without worries and shortcomings, without manipulation and deception, without injustice and depravity. Justice, which is worth little in itself, is joined and mingled with the happy virtue of liberty to be delivered to the descendants of brutes and
savages, give us barbarians from this side Rin, the whimsical kindness of empathy.
Because that capacity is a seed freedom and the fertilizer of freedom. Without empathy neither would exist, without empathy we could never become humanity.
