Rock group Aerosmith announces retirement after 50 years of career

After more than half a century of experience, the American group Aerosmith, lead by Steven Tylerannounced this Monday his farewell tour, the so-called Peace Out And it will start in September. “After 50 years, 10 world tours and over 100 million fans… Time for one more before we go!” they shared on Instagram.

According to efe, a classic rock band founded by Steven Tyler (vocals), Joe Perry (lead guitar), Brad Whitford (guitar), Tom Hamilton (low) i Joey Kramer (drums) will hold 40 concerts from September 12 in Philadelphia (USA) to January 26, 2024 in Montreal (Canada). Aerosmith He will be followed by The Black Crowes, who will act as the opening act on this tour which will include cities such as Boston, New York, San Francisco and Seattle among others.

“This is a kind of opportunity to celebrate 50 years that we have been here. You never know how long everybody’s going to be healthy enough to do this,” Perry told Fox News of the group’s members, all those over 70 years old.

The band, founded in Boston in 1970, announced in a statement that Kramer will not be participating in the tour because he is focused on taking care of his family and his health.

The group has not released a new album since the release of “Another Dimension!” 2012, the fifteenth album in his career.

In May 2022. Aerosmith canceled part of their Las Vegas residency due to Tyler’s renewed drug addiction. In addition, the singer is indirectly involved in December in sexual assault lawsuit, the result of an alleged relationship he had with a minor in the 1970s.
