Education, the star of Whose?

One of the promises of electricity The government should have made education the starBut what they leave is a black hole that swallows the future of Panamanian generations, the only shooting star is the interests of those who profit from this situation they have brought education system, and that is very dangerous for this meteorite to continue walking close to our Panamanian planet for another five years, either by an honest victory at the polls – which is unlikely – or by the electoral fraud that many Panamanians fear.

Let’s talk about some specific situations that occurred under electricity executive mandate related to education:

1- Between arbitrary measures of deprivation of liberty and free transit imposed by the pandemic, which, by the way, caused the bankruptcy of many micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, in addition to high unemployment, schools were also closed. One of the longest closures Latin America and the worldstudents continue to suffer the consequences of this, but internet companies profited from virtual “education”, at the expense of parents’ pockets, who at that time – and still – barely had enough food, and were forced to buy internet services or buy prepaid cards as their children might get some poor quality lesson.

2- IFARHU “financial aid” scandal The Panamanian people are waiting for an answer to the criteria used by aadministration of this institution for awarding scholarships and financial assistance to the children of political, business and entertainment figures. On the basis of which socio-economic studies were these benefits awarded with taxpayers’ money? The users really needed them? The saying is literally true here, some are born with a star and others with the stars.

3- Budget reduction in University of Panama, Who benefits from it? Maybe break it Octavio Mendez Pereira’s house and that private universities are the only option anyway?

4- Situations Great British School and Elena Ch. Pinatas in Juan Díaz’s Corregimientoas a father of a family, I know first hand the situation he is in Pinate School, with structural damage which already last year – at the beginning of the school year – led to a teachers’ strike. This year an “accident” with a student, caused by not solving a known problem, now classes will be held in a shopping center that is practically imposed by the authorities, the rent will be paid with funds taxpayers Who are the owners of this shopping center?
