Rayden, Vicco and El Langui headline the Boimorto Light Festival poster

Rayden, Vicco and El Langui front the poster for the next Festival of Light, which is in its 11th edition again for charity after sharing the €90,000 raised last year this Friday. “There are many festivals in Spain and Galicia, but ours is different because it has a clear charitable purpose. We want to help those associations and foundations that have a little more need. On this occasion, he shared more than 90,000 euros collected last summerwith the Federation of Galician Associations Relatives of patients with Alzheimer’s disease and Other dementias (Fagal) as the main beneficiary, with 83,700 euros. He thanked for his work “all these anonymous people, these scientists, these dedicated people, who make these diseases, even if they are chronic, stop being so painful”. They also sent part of the funds to Betanzos Red Cross, with 5,000 eurosand “small contributions to the Boimort City Council associations because you have to be with your loved ones”, with 4,000 euros.

As for this year’s poster, the organization has advanced that there are several large groups to be announced and that this time there will be Another 10,000 square meters of land and a part intended for the circus, without animals.

The president of Fagal, María Isabel Gey, thanked the “visibility” given to her by the Festival of Lights and pointed out that “there are about 70,000 people with dementia in Galicia», therefore it is important to serve families. The territorial delegate of Xunta, Gonzalo Trenor, emphasized the importance of the initiative and hopes that this year will be “unforgettable”. Provincial Deputy Bernardo Fernández said there was “an unwavering and determined commitment of the Diputación de A Coruña”. The mayor of Boimorto, María Jesús Novo, thanked “infinitely” the role of Luz Casal in putting “Boimorto on the map”.
