A new musical event for the Galician calendar. It is called Remember Festus, will take place today September 8 and 9 in Cullered and for now it is Ivan Ferreiro as the featured poster artist to be revealed week by week until his 14 names are complete. Yesterday he appeared in A Coruña launching two messages. First, commitment «indie-pop commercial benchmark in Spain”, as defined by its director Victor Santana. Second, the environmental and sustainability message, which commits to “confirming the carbon footprint” created by the event, he emphasized.
The festival will take place on the Ría do Burgo promenade, in an extension that could accommodate up to 12,000 peopleaccording to the mayor of the municipality, Jose Ramon Riobo. It will take place between 16:00 and 3:00 in the morning and will have a stage dedicated to disyoqueis, “where the best Galician clubs will play”. On the second stage, the main stage, 14 contracted bands will parade, which could be expanded to two more “which are still being negotiated,” Santana said.
As for environmental values, David’s motto, of Air Co2, said that Recorda Fest “will not only compensate, but will do so in an exemplary way”. In this sense, he said that “compensation will be local, this footprint will not be compensated in the Amazon, but in the environment. And secondly, work will be done with the existing forest mass.
In his speech, Víctor Santana said that they aimed to reach those 12,000 attendees. Also that they were looking at the target audience between 20 and 45 years old. Due to the festival’s characteristics and schedule, he pointed out, it is an attractive option for families to participate.
Artists introduce each other
One of the special features of this meeting will be that the artists themselves will gradually unveil the poster, announcing each other. “With this festival, we will try to position Culleredo not only in the Galician sphere, but also in the national sphere. Because we’re going to launch a social media campaign that will put Culleredo’s name in the mouth influential persons and artists.
Subscriptions are already on sale with a starting price of 45 euros. As usual with other similar festivals, these are released in quotas that will increase in price as they expire. The final price will be 65 euros, said the organizer, who pointed out that this is the first chapter of the project, which seeks consolidation. “We believe we have a bet that will work. And we are here to stay,” he emphasized.
