Youth: a divine treasure, something we should not waste

It’s true, I feel that I am generationally disabled from writing this article, but it is my moral duty to do so. I am inspired by what a friend sent me recently: “eight out of ten young Panamanians are thinking about emigrating.” The fact that they want to emigrate is not a problem.

Part our DNA as human beings it motivates us to move from here to there like gypsies. The downside is when it turns into a massive and unnecessary talent drain. All this has to do with the number of opportunities that each young person can count on, and equally so Motivation to stay in the countrywithout looking for alternatives out there.

Everything as a whole has to do with the potential that a young person can think about in relation to the possibilities of growing up as an adult in a society with a quality life. Nobody wants to become a criminal lack of opportunity. But the “play live” culture that prevails in our country does not really contribute to that excellent training of our youth.

Here it is family, school and country they play a crucial role in the lives of these developing citizens. The conjunction of these three elements is too important, but it must be dealt with effectively.

Hence good orientation at home; that training in study centers and the implementation of measures to attract investment and increase state affairsthey are carried out in accordance with their role in the process of preparing young people to become exemplary citizens, they are the most important.

Creole political class It must be taken into account that a large part of the voting population is under the age of thirty. However, this must be done responsibly. Any candidate’s bid must be based on the principle that we were all young once and wanted to be respected, not just for a vote. It’s time to put it aside selfishness and meanness and to think as a nation. We do not want an ignorant and failed society.

Them too would achieve, sowing talent, fertilizing it and taking care of it that it does not grow wrong. Politicians have offspring too. So why not start by setting a good example. Perhaps one of his descendants will choose politics as a career, because there are good politicians, as they were Belaunde Terry, Lincoln, Mandela and Olaf Palme at that time.

Can our politicians assimilate this? We need to see beyond the nose, because many of us are fathers or mothers, and some of us are also grandparents, and if not, at least uncles or godfathers. The time will come for us to leave, but we will be survived by the next generations, the ones to whom we must leave a legacy. What better legacy than a new society whose pillars are decency and excellence. We are still on time for build Panama opportunitiesone in which the young man or the young woman does not should emigrate or resort to crime survive.

If we don’t, we become bad as the politician we criticize. Of course, it’s easy to do that and look away, only to cry tomorrow without a cure because you didn’t act on time. Panamanians are a noble people. They trusted us like next generation, Urraca, Bayano, Belisario Porras, Amelia Denis de Icaza, Jeptha Duncan, Rosa María Britton and so many others. Now it is up to us to motivate the next generations. Let’s not leave for tomorrow what we can correct today. That, “Youth, divine treasure”but which must be cared for and cherished in order to continue to bear its best fruits Mira’s hometown
