I dedicated myself to looking for different roles, because if you let others choose, you end up with the same character dressed in different costumes – he says. Instead of accepting these roles, she left the Queen of England and joined the cast The talent of Mr. Ripley in what she considers “a small role to distance herself from Elizabeth». A unique experience

While reflecting on this “once-in-a-lifetime experience,” the Australian revealed that he had to learn the piano, German and conducting techniques just to understand the process of his character in the film. His immense talent is defined by this wrapping of layers of feeling that separate as he develops in each of his performances. Blanchett graduated from the Australian School of Drama in 1992 and six years later earned her first Academy Award nomination for her role in the film. Elizabethsince then we have seen her in the trilogy Lord of the Rings, Veronica Guerín, Gift, disappearances and of course, Aviator where, transformed into Katharine Hepburn, she won her first Oscar from Martin Scorsese.

Then his second statuette for Blue jasmine and another nomination for A song. “In the time we live in, anyone who has an existence on the screen can generate intimacy with the audience. I don’t feel like an icon, nor do I think about it. When you work on a film, the hours are long and the feeling is intense and fascinating,” he explains.

Humanitarian activist, working mother and very stylish, Blanchett has achieved so much in her career and personal life that Lydia Tár would pale in comparison. “I was very lucky, I admit. I had to live in a time where many opportunities presented themselves. For me, it is an honor to be nominated for an Oscar in a year in which there are many exceptional performances by very different women and a great artistic projection.

For her acting is “a kind of necessary and visceral physical exercise”. “An anthropological study where you can dig up a character or a set of relationships,” he specifies. “In the last 30 years, my passion in the film industry has been the craft of acting, and this passion has led me to look for roles that deepen and challenge this craft, if you work at it, it doesn’t matter if you fail. If you fail, you fail, but sometimes it works,” says Blanchett.

Then he discovered that tar it was completely eating away at her. “We are all full of contradictions and hypocrisy. No one is perfect, and neither is Linda Tár, as much as it seems. This movie spit in my face and now I’m not sure where I am. It changed my sense of what was possible, but Todd Fields is the one who made me feel that way,” he said, referring to one of his most loyal fans, the director responsible for tar. Blanchett concluded by thanking the film’s composer, editor, scenographer, costume designer, the Dresden Philharmonic and the audience.
