stinks

What a proud title the Tages-Anzeiger found there: “Switzerland decides the question of war and peace.” Zürcher Blatt announces a blessed year to the world, because what else can come of it when Switzerland has to make such landmark decisions?

For the Swiss Confederation itself, the next twelve months look great, as Bleek reported in the headlines: “The world is weakening, Switzerland is showing strength.” This was found out by an expert in economics. It is all the better that the Alpine country is one of the decision-makers in the UN Security Council.

Unfortunately, unfortunately, unfortunately, the “Neue Zürcher Zeitung” publishes a rather depressing headline about the state of the nation: “Switzerland is under pressure due to Russian funds.” Translated into everyday political parlance, this means that neutral Switzerland must bear the consequences of refusing to show the solidarity the US and EU demand as they confiscate the oligarchs’ assets, which should be used to finance the rebuilding of shattered Ukraine.

Now what? What to do?

What causes problems for financial power in the heart of Europe
always the same: dirty money, criminal money, in a word, money, money, money. From here the Western world, from Washington to Paris and Berlin, and recently to Kyiv, derives the key word for the Helvetic Republic:

Greed!

This term means indecent Switzerland. Although you really want to hug decent Switzerland – but somehow their breath smells unpleasant. Democracies of all democracies tend to beckon with the fresh mountain air that, as the Tages-Anzeiger writes in another headline, billionaires love so much: “The trail of Russian oil tycoons leads to St. Moritz.”

So even on the most beautiful plateau in the world it smells like oligarchs.
How about the Federal Council cheering the conflict-torn world in the second year of the Ukrainian war from the comfort of Bern: “You can count on us when it comes to taking action against the Russian oligarchs!”

However, this suggests that one is choosing between the world on the one hand and St. Moritz on the other, which of course, for complete clarity, is joined by other places with a bad reputation, such as Geneva, Lugano, Schwyz or Zug.

It would be enough to agree with the formula: Switzerland is Switzerland is Switzerland, and not some garbage dump that damages the reputation of this great country by systematically collaborating with global swindlers.

Of course, this would also mean thinning out the industry: trustees, law firms, backwaters, that is, the growth of all the greedy people who see nothing in the Confederacy other than their business model.

By the way, diplomats, especially in connection with the demand for the confiscation of the property of the oligarchs in favor of defiled Ukraine, conjure up the Swiss constitutional state with a worried expression: they are in demand at the international level.

Is it laugh or cry? The oligarchs who fight against the rule of law in their country are looking for the protective law of the Swiss rule of law. Because that is why they are here with us – in the paradise of freedom, which would be an abomination for them in Russia.

Switzerland goes to the big world. And brings with it the best prerequisites. She is engaged in the education of political culture. They will be listened to even in the UN Security Council. Now she has to decide with which of the guests she wants to sit at the table in the future.

Continue hosting the oligarchs? I cant.
