“You should be ashamed!”

Belgian investigators found 600,000 euros in cash in the apartment of Eva Kaili (44) in Brussels. Some of the bills were hidden under the bed of her two-year-old daughter.

The Greek is one of many Vice-Presidents of the European Parliament. The prosecutor believes that she was bribed, and the sheikh is suspected of being the culprit. There are many references to Qatar: in fact, Kylie praised the host country of the World Cup in a surprisingly enthusiastic manner and voted against a resolution critical of Qatar in a committee of which she was not a member.

Blick foreign reporter Samuel Schumacher (35) commented: “The European idea lies on the ground, the moral shell corroded by greedy bloodsuckers.” In the future, the EU will never again be able to dictate to the nation that it is fighting corruption – a drunkard cannot forbid a drunkard to drink alcohol.

If you look closely at the 705th EU Parliament, you will see a real monster of bureaucracy, exorbitant costs and aloof politicians with no discernible connection to reality.

After the breakdown of negotiations with the EU on a framework agreement, Switzerland still has no way out. The latest scandal doesn’t quite help unravel the tangled dossier.

However, there is a positive side to the Kylie thriller: the Belgian prosecutor’s office is completely independent and has nothing to do with losses with the top political representatives of the Union. The suspect was caught in the act!

This would be unthinkable in many places around the world: In Iran, where the regime hangs protesting students. In China, where digital surveillance is total. In Russia, where few people can make a career without corruption. In North Korea, where a dictator enslaves his entire people…

Bad people are everywhere. Just like greed and corruption. But only in the free part of the world, even the most powerful politicians are not immune from justice.

The decisive strength of Western democracies lies in the fact that they even risk their reputation to publicize discontent and learn from it.

Ylva Johansson (58), EU home affairs commissioner, called her corrupt colleague Kylie: “Shame on you!” Shame on yourself!

If clear words are now followed by strong clarifications and reforms, if the scandal was a wake-up call: then the EU will come out of the current chaos stronger.
