Promoting innovation and diversity in the technological era

We are not currently maintaining high representation women in STEM careers (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), which not only limits their presence in the workforce, but also the innovative potential and diversity in these essential areas.

According to a 2020 study for the promotion and advancement of women and girls in the STEM sector, only 35% of students in careers and programs in the STEM field are women in Latin America and the Caribbean. This disparity is troubling, especially considering that diversity of perspectives is essential to solving the complex challenges facing our society.

In order to achieve meaningful change, it is crucial to start from the ground up, encouraging Girls’ interest and confidence in STEM from an early age. We can promote this by creating educational programs that promote the active participation of women in STEM disciplines, such as mentoring, scholarships, and extracurricular clubs, which are key to closing the gender gap in these fields.

But, Why is diversity relevant in STEM professions? Inclusion of more women in STEM professions Not only will it enrich the workforce with diverse skills and perspectives, but it will also ensure that technology and innovation are truly a cross-section of society as a whole.

Furthermore, as we move towards an increasingly technology-driven future, it is essential that the solutions developed reflect the needs and experiences of all people. Gender diversity in STEM It’s not just a question of honesty, but ia a smart strategy for driving innovation and solving challenges globally more efficient.

At SONDA, we are convinced that it is possible to improve diversity and inclusion, as well as support the participation of women in the IT industry, which is why we have our program ‘SONDA Women’, in which we strive to generate a movement that inspires, not only within the organization, but also motivates everyone our associates to encourage their daughters and family members to pursue IT positions, considering that it is one of the most promising markets today. Let’s continue to jointly promote inclusion from the public and private sectors and active participation of women in professional careers in STEM, which undoubtedly represent the jobs of the future and their development is directly aimed at promoting sustainable development not only to promote innovation, but also social welfare and inclusive growth.
