The Intellectual Property Institute is responsible, among other things, for the protection of the Swiss coat of arms. In front of whom or what? First of all, probably from the Russians, but then other outrageous threats follow, for example, demands from athletes. And they are a thorn in the side of bureaucrats and other pencil sharpeners anyway, because they act on emotions they don’t understand, such as fun and love of life.
Therefore, the Intellectual Property Institute wants to ban the Swiss national ice hockey team from wearing the Swiss coat of arms, if necessary under the threat of legal action. This is bitter seriousness. To avoid declaring a state of emergency in the country, both houses of parliament are now addressing this issue. It sounds like an anecdote from the Schildburger region: since crows peck freshly sown grains from the field, greedy birds should be scared away. This task is undertaken by the community leader, but to prevent him from trampling down the seeds, he is carried out into the field on a platform by four men.
Why do we need this farce about the coat of arms? Because no one should have the idea that such a national shrine as the coat of arms should be used for fraud or, God forbid, for making money. Exception: You receive permission to do this from the Institute of Intellectual Property. The Swiss national ice hockey team apparently doesn’t understand this, but the world famous Swiss company that sells pocket knives does.
When the Swiss team represents the country at the next World Cup, you need to keep your eyes peeled. If there is no coat of arms on the chest, the bureaucracy has won. Even this does not exclude the possibility of the team winning one more game.
