The broken mirror of national integrity

We are all reflected in the broken mirror of our country, fragmented due to lack of cohesionpatched here and there between one group and another trying to isolate themselves, all they achieve is distorting the self-image they all form.

But how did we become what we are today as a nation? William James said, one of the fathers of modern psychology, that we just have to play a role so that it becomes a reality in us.

Thus, he put external behavior in the first place as a factor that shapes and transforms personality. Something similar happens in countries. If the country is fragmented and divided, not so much because of geography, but because of the material factors of lack of road connectivity, then we find ourselves divided, and the spirit of unity that rules and unites nations is absent here, mostly, for such reasons. There isn’t one isolated community, but hundreds of them, all over our territory.

Asphalt has repeatedly been suppressed and conditioned by power lines; There are asphalted streets only where there are pillars. The rest are penetration paths, paths and paths opened by the soles. It has been like that for a long time; more than we would like to understand. The Inter-American Highway, the only major artery that runs almost entirely through the country, took more than 50 years to complete; and thanks to persistence and dedication of the population itself that this project became a reality. In 1953, the action of donating bags of cement began, which after a few months already collected the astronomical sum of 195,000 bags, through the joint efforts of the population itself. That vision of the importance of national integration has not been replicated since then, in such a significant way.

Today we find ourselves in the midst of this brutal fragmentation, with urban centers having, for example, only one important way of connecting to each other and to others; or which simply lead to dead ends that lead nowhere according to its development. A typical example of this reality can be seen in those streets that go only from ocean to ocean Chiriquí in Bocas del Toroor from Colón to Panama.

The rest of the northern coast is isolated, frozen in time as it were cave painting and without any government, So far, he has dedicated himself to the task of being interested in the full development of our nation, which can only happen fully through communication channels. The Cobra Panamá mining operation, to which the sentence has already put a cross and a burial, maintained a route for the extraction of metal – and who knows what else – that crosses from Penonoméalong Pintada and to Puerto Rincón in the Donoso district of Colón. It is another promising direction of development and national integration.

It could be perfectly used to promote land cargo logistics centers that could be unloaded at that port, crossing the province of Coclé and giving our forgotten population the chance to find its full development potential. That the infrastructure should return to the state after the termination of the contract, at the age of forty; Fortunately, times have sped up and we must take advantage of them.

The road is gone Puerto Rincón, on the Atlanticwould be the beginning of the integration and road development of our country, with the potential of connecting the mining port with the ports of Colón and the promising interconnection of the whole north of the Republic, all the way to the coasts Veraguas and the Bocas del Toro archipelago. That We do not have a vision of comprehensive development, in time we will be forgotten, like those ghost towns of the far west, which today are dressed only in the dust of the past. Comprehensive development begins like this; advancing tracks for trains that haven’t even started yet or making tracks to towns whose names don’t appear on the maps yet.
