Don’t wait

Don’t expect anyone to recognize what you’re doing, because if it’s useful and good for humanity, Being praised or criticized for your actions should not be the reason for whether or not you act. Of course you like to be told good things about what you do.

It is truly an encouragement, and a good leader does this with those he leads. But if what you do is truly noble and even holy, if it is good and pleasing to God, do not expect recognition, because you are falling into a trap as old as the humanity of life depending on people’s opinion to do noble deeds.

Don’t fall into that trap. Becoming a slave to people who, because of their authority, friendship or influence in society, tell you things motivated by their approach to reality, interests, envy or other reasons, means digging your own grave and remaining motionless for the rest of your life. It is logical that you must have enough intelligence and humility to listen to advicehe leads and sees the experiences of other people and actions, to take on knowledge to fulfill his ideals.

Listen for example: “It can’t be done. Others have already tried and it couldn’t be done. It’s crazy. You won’t be able to. You have no resources. You’ll be wasting your time. I can kill you. What do you get?” with that?” If Simón Bolívar had listened to his pessimistic friends, the liberation of America from the domination of the Iberian monarchy would not have come at that time. If Gandhi had listened to his advisers who feared English power, India would not have crushed them chains of British domination. If Martin Luther King had fallen into the trap of cultivating fear in the face of the death threats he received, black Americans might have been subjected to the most radical racial marginalization to date.

That Jesus Christ, our Lord, listened to the “prudent” voices that advised him not to follow the path of prophecy, and never intervene with authority in the infamous temple business, and if we did not mess with the Pharisees and Sadducees, and if we did not go to Jerusalem because they could kill him, there would be no salvation for us. If the apostles and martyrs that the Church had loved their lives more than the Lord Jesus Christ and the Kingdom and had hid themselves, the Church would have remained in the most terrible shadow.

Follow your deepest ideals, don’t give up, be true to your beliefs and help humanity has a better future. And don’t expect them to recognize you at all. All that matters is what God thinks of you.
