While young women in Israel are now being raped by Hamas terrorists among the corpses of their friends and trudged through the streets of Gaza, you who call yourselves feminists remain silent.
Clear words of condemnation of these barbaric crimes clearly do not fit into a worldview that knows Israel only as Goliath. Even when babies are allegedly beheaded and the murders are broadcast in real time on social media. No, when one of you opens your mouth, it is to question the evidence of atrocities. But when a hospital in the Gaza Strip was attacked on Tuesday – and the evidence was in fact more than unclear – you did not hesitate for a second to raise your voice.
I was born and raised in Zurich. All my life I belonged and fit in. And now Stars of David are being painted on the front doors and synagogues are being attacked in European cities. But your voice fell silent. At least now we know that when the going gets tough, we Jews are on our own. Your indifference is shameful. It was called #neveragain, but few people seem to understand that history repeats itself. Anyone who remains silent today puts themselves on the wrong side of history. Anyone who is silent today may suffer tomorrow.
