In the 1960s, I asked my mother what she really had against Jews. We didn’t know anyone. She said the Jews crucified Jesus. I answered a while ago. My father advised me to avoid Jews because they are greedy and stingy. As a teenager, I left not only my parents’ home, but also all the prejudices that were given to me like an oral inoculation.
In the 1970s, it was chic to wear a scarf from the then head of the terrorist organization PLO, Yasser Arafat, to school; people quoted Mao’s red Bible and paid tribute to Che Guevara, an admirer of Stalin and the “Marlboro Man” of the left. People raved about the GDR, which remained on the side of the Palestinians even after the Olympic massacre (1972) and continued to supply them with heavy weapons. Love of totalitarianism was as widespread as hostility to Jews.
It was the zeitgeist, the vainglorious “awakening” of the seventies. The boys grew up and lost their plaid scarves, but not their antipathy towards Jews.
A few years ago I was talking to a left-wing publisher about the author. He didn’t like her and said she was just a Jew. What irritated me was that he automatically assumed that I, as a writer, shared his opinion. Anti-Semitism is an integral part of the red-green agenda.
While Putin did not hesitate for a second to declare boycotts, he has not hesitated to freeze payments to the Palestinians. Over the past 50 years, they have received tens of billions from the West and still cannot provide themselves with water and electricity. But definitely for weapons.
The fact that Palestinians who immigrated to Europe are celebrating the barbaric murder of Israeli elders, women and children in the streets by holding swastikas in front of cameras is disgusting.
The atrocities in Israel once again prove that not every culture can be integrated here. And certainly not young people, who, apparently, have been left without a trace by the development of civilization over the past 2000 years. It is shocking that I am indirectly helping to fund a terrorist organization with my taxes.
