Blick reader Giulia H.* (40) just wants to buy beautiful Nike sneakers with daisies on them. An ad caught his eye on Facebook. Paul Rosenbach, the online store that advertises it, promises “fashion from Zurich” on its website. Committed to longevity and sustainability.

Giula H. ordered Blümchen Nikes for 160 francs and a few more sneakers and a pair of trousers. “I was skeptical when I didn’t get the email order confirmation right away,” she says. Still, an e-mail arrived, but it seemed strange to H.

The goods arrive after 10 days: “When I saw the package, I immediately knew: It was a bad purchase.” There is almost no talk of a package: the goods are delivered in a plastic bag. The shoes come without a box. Delivery looks like you ordered from the Chinese cheap providers Wish or Aliexpress. “There was no letter in the package,” says Giulia H. At the latest when she googles it, she realizes that she shouldn’t have ordered from Paul Rosenbach!

The shoes are a cheap Nike replica. “Fashion is behind instead of Nike,” says H. Air, as always with the popular Nike Air. The shoes also broke – the glue has already come loose. The pants also don’t match the picture on the website and are too big. The sole of the second pair of shoes is hard as a rock. “You can’t walk in these.”

One thing is clear to the reader: he doesn’t want to keep the pants and shoes, he wants to send them back. “Online said I should send an email for it.” He gets an answer. However, your request for a phone number was not fulfilled. “We currently do not have a call center system, please write to us here” is the only response.

No refunds. Just a coupon. Reason: goods are reduced. The funny thing is that all clothing items are reduced on the website. “I’m sure I will never order from there again,” says Giulia H. That’s why he doesn’t want coupons.

The online store also states that the only way to get a refund is to send the goods back to the sender. to Hong Kong. at your own expense. According to the Swiss Post website, it costs at least 50 francs.

Giulia H. therefore does not send the goods back. “It was definitely a bad investment. 160 francs gone.”

Consumer protection has already received a number of reports about the Paul Rosenbach online store. “Dropshipping in this way is always an issue for us,” the foundation said. This means that the goods are shipped directly from the manufacturer to the end customer.

“From our point of view, this is clearly unfair competition because the company advertises ‘Zurich fashion’, ‘environmentally friendly production and fair working conditions’. However, we cannot identify a link with Zurich or, again, the aforementioned Berlin,” says consumer protection. However, the company is headquartered in China. There is no actual consequence of the breach because the online store offers some of the same products as Alibaba, but at a more expensive price.

Imprint suspect

According to the imprint, the Paul Rosenbach online store “Acessoires & Designs Ltd.” It is managed by a company called With an address in Hong Kong. Looking at the Swiss business register, neither Paul Rosenbach nor Acessoires & Designs Ltd. one hit.

Consumer protection reports that the Hong Kong company operates at least one other online store that aims to give the impression that high-quality products are shipped from Europe: juweliermeier.com. A blatant false name, entered in the tag as a Max Mueller representative. There’s no full name on Paul Rosenbach’s series either, just “Andreas H.”

The company left Blick’s request unanswered. All the signs that should ring alarm bells before an online order. In the case of Giulia H., it’s too late for that. That’s why he’s talking about his bug on Blick. “I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.”
