British airline Easyjet expects a strong summer

British low-cost carrier Easyjet expects a strong summer.

Booking behavior has returned to normal. 73 percent of the seats are reserved for the third business quarter and 36 percent for the last quarter. Due to the strong recovery in air traffic, Easyjet had already raised its annual targets in April.

But halfway through the year, the typical seasonal loss occurred. From October to the end of March, the adjusted pre-tax loss increased by nearly a quarter from the same period last year to £411 million. This is in the range of minus £405m to minus £425m announced in April.

Sales – as is already known – increased by 80 percent and reached 2.7 billion liras. The number of passengers increased by 41 percent to 33.1 million, and the rate of aircraft usage rose from 77.3 percent to 87.5 percent. (SDA)
