Now AI is also available in Swiss German! Swiss start-up “Textshuttle” has launched a new tool. You can enter text in it that will be translated into dozens of languages. For the first time, translations into Swiss German and even Romansh are also possible.
The Swiss start-up and spin-off from the University of Zurich launched its AI-based translation service on Wednesday. The company is attacking the “DeepL” and “Google Translate” giants. What sets the company apart: All Swiss national languages are covered.
“Textshuttle” is the world’s first AI translation service capable of bidirectional translation into Swiss German and Romansh. In addition, languages are adapted to the spelling and idioms customary in Switzerland. Even Polish translations are possible – but only Zuri and Bernese German are available so far.
Until now, Textshuttle was known only as an AI translation service for business customers. Everyone should be able to benefit from it.
With the launch of the free service, Textshuttle is in direct competition with AI translation giants DeepL and Google Translate. But while these come from abroad, Textshuttle is developed and operated entirely in Switzerland.
In addition to the language service, the service also has technical advantages over its “big” competitors. The user can translate longer texts than is possible with other free offers. Translation of all documents is also possible.
If you want to test the translator, you can test it on textshuttle.com. (lia)
