class=”sc-3778e872-0 cgWkHT”>

German travel group Tui expects a good travel summer in 2023.

As Tui announced in Hanover on Wednesday, sales of 3.2 billion euros in the second business quarter to the end of March were about one and a half times higher than in the same period a year ago, affected by the pandemic. .

Seasonal operating loss before special effects (adjusted EBITDA) decreased by a good quarter to approximately €242 million. However, the net loss attributable to shareholders rose almost nine percent to €364 million.

Tui boss Sebastian Ebel sees a “significant” increase in adjusted operating profit this year as planned, particularly in light of the “strong booking development” over the past few weeks. The group has counted 8.3 million bookings so far for the summer. This is 13 percent more than the previous year and almost twice as much as in 2019 before Corona.

People are spending more on their holidays: the average price of trips sold is now 5 percent higher than the previous year and 26 percent higher than in the summer of 2019.
