The State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco) has so far identified 130 possible attempts to circumvent sanctions against Russia. According to the president of Seco Helene Budliger Artieda, 58, 29 cases have led to administrative criminal proceedings.
As Budliger Artieda said in an interview with Tammedia newspapers on Monday, about half of previous criminal proceedings have resulted in legal consequences. In 36 suspect cases, the opening of the trial was waived. The remaining cases are still under investigation.
Seco also clarifies how much assets the Russian central bank has in Switzerland. When asked about the ten billion francs that should be in Switzerland, according to the “SonntagsZeitung”, Seco’s boss said so. “We’re trying to be able to name a number as soon as possible,” the Seco boss said.
