As Helvetia announced Thursday, future Helvetia boss Rupprecht is CEO of International Insurance and a member of the NN Group’s Board of Directors since 2018. During his 28-year insurance career, he worked in both life and non-life insurance. According to the information obtained, the 53-year-old German-Swiss dual citizen lives in Switzerland.
The current CEO, Philipp Gmur, announced last October that he would step down by mid-2023. He wanted to take on “other missions outside the Helvetia Group” in the future, and he justified this step. Gmur has been with Helvetia since 1993 and took over as CEO of the insurance company in 2016. In his statement, Chairman of the Board, Thomas Schmuckli, thanked Gmur for his contribution and commitment to the development of Helvetia over the past three decades.
According to the announcement, Helvetia’s decision to replace the Group CEO is subject to approval by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, Finma.
